Dr. Pierson earned is Doctorate in Dental Surgery degree from Loma Linda University along with a Master’s in Public Health.  He completed additional training in Anesthesiology, completing a residency in Anesthesiology, also at Loma Linda University.  Dr. Pierson went on to earn a Board Certification/Diplomat in the National Dental Board of Anesthesiology. Dr. Pierson founded Hapy Bear Dentistry in 1997 in Visalia, California.  As time went on, it became clear that there was a growing demand for treating children that need to be sedated for their dental needs in the safest environment possible.  So, in 2010 he and his son Jeremy Pierson established Hapy Bear Surgery Center, a Joint Commission Accredited Ambulatory Surgery Center dedicated to treating children that need to be asleep for their treatment in the safest possible environment.  Dr. Pierson maintains membership in the Tulare-Kings Dental Society, California Dental Association, American Dental Association, American Society of Dentist Anesthesiologists, and the American Dental Society of Anesthesiology.

Dr. Chun earned his Doctorate in Dental Medicine degree from Temple University.  Dr. Chun holds additional certifications in Pediatric Advanced Life Support and Pediatric Oral Conscious Sedation.  Dr. Chun has maintained Medical Privileges and Credentialling at Hapy Bear Surgery Center since 2011, working exclusively on children at Hapy Bear Surgery Center in the operating room setting since then.  Dr. Chun is skilled in providing pediatric dentistry to children under general anesthesia and maintains the highest standards of safety and quality.  Dr. Chun enjoys providing high quality specialty dental care to Central Valley children.  Dr. Chun maintains membership in the Tulare-Kings Dental Society, California Dental Association and the American Dental Association.

Dr. Ken D. Pierson earned his Doctorate in Dental Surgery degree from Loma Linda University.  Dr. Ken holds additional certifications in Pediatric Advanced Life Support and Pediatric Oral Conscious Sedation.  Dr. Pierson has maintained Medical Privileges and Credentialling at Hapy Bear Surgery Center since it opened in 2010 and has been working exclusively on children in the operating room setting at Hapy Bear since 2018.  Dr. Ken is proficient in pediatric dentistry and oral surgery.  “I really enjoy and find fulfillment in rehabilitating a child’s mouth that desperately needs my expertise and help!” say’s Dr. Ken.  As the CEO and Medical Director or Hapy Bear Surgery Center, Dr. Ken’s top priority is to lead Hapy Bear providers and team to provide the safest and best dental care possible.  Dr. Ken maintains membership in the Tulare-Kings Dental Society, California Dental Association, American Dental Association, the California Society of Pediatric Dentistry, and the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry.

Dr. Sally Kim earned her Doctorate in Dental Surgery degree from Loma Linda University.  Dr. Kim holds additional certification in Pediatric Advanced Life Support.  Dr. Kim has maintained Medical Privileges and Credentialling at Hapy Bear Surgery Center since 2020.  Dr. Kim has been working exclusively on children in the operating room setting since 2020.  Dr. Kim enjoys getting to know her patients during the examination visit as well as treating children by restoring them to a healthy mouth. 

Dr. Henry Kim earned his Doctorate in Dental Surgery degree from Loma Linda University.  Dr. Kim holds additional certification in Pediatric Advanced Life Support.  Dr. Kim has maintained Medical Privileges and Credentialling at Hapy Bear Surgery Center since 2020.  He has been exclusively seeing children for their initial examinations and treating children in the operating room setting since 2020.  “I enjoy meeting the children and parents at their first exam visit and educating them on our process at Hapy Bear and how to have better oral health” says Dr. Kim. He follows up with, “Of course, doing the treatment is also rewarding!”

Dr. Crystal Edmister earned her Doctorate in Dental Surgery degree from Loma Linda University.  Dr. Edmister holds additional certifications in Pediatric Advanced Life Support and Pediatric Oral Conscious Sedation.  Dr. Edmister has maintained Medical Privileges and Credentialling at Hapy Bear Surgery Center since 2018.  Dr. Edmister has extensive experience in pediatric dentistry and enjoys making a positive difference in children’s lives. “I love being able to restore a healthy smile for a little deathly scared child or a child with special needs”  Dr. Edmister states.  She follows up with, “I also try to make sure the parents and caregivers know their child is in good hands and we are very concerned about safety here at Hapy Bear!”
