As technology and specialization in the dental field has improved, going to the dentist can now be a fun experience for kids (and their parents). Hapy Bear Surgery Center incorporates the latest, cutting-edge technology to ensure safety and security. Our Dentists, Anesthesiologists, Anesthetists, Registered Nurses (RNs), Registered Dental Assistants (RDAs) and support staff are well trained and undergo continuous education to ensure our patients’ safety.

Going to the dentist can be an intimidating experience for children.  In fact, many adults who are fearful of the dentist point back to a traumatizing experience at a dental office when they were young.  Pediatric sedation dentistry is the use of a sedative to relax the patient during treatment.  These techniques dramatically reduce the negative associations that a child might have from dental treatment. Pediatric sedation dentistry is a great tool for treating kids with ADHD, special needs, or a severe phobia of the dentist.
With modernization in dentistry and the safety of sedation techniques, there is no need for children to be traumatized by a dental visit. Whether your child just needs a little Oral Sedation to calm their nerves or needs the help of General Anesthesia to completely relax during treatment, our experienced staff, state-of-the-art facility and State and National safety certifications can help make the experience stress free, for both the patient and the parent.

Our waiting room has been designed with kids in mind. We have a glassed-in Kids Play Zone where kids can be kids… climbing and sliding on our indoor tree. We also provide magazines, TV and free WiFi to you help pass the time.

Dentistry has come a long way to help children complete their needed dental care. Our goal is for your child to look forward to going to the dentist after their treatment is completed.

Our strong partnership with referring dentists in Visalia, Tulare, Hanford and Porterville has grown since we started in 1997. Since the beginning, our goal has been to ensure that Hapy Bear will be a trusted partner to refer your patients who need extra help.

Our goal at Hapy Bear is to provide a place where patients (ages 0-17 yrs old) can go if they require a little extra help in getting dental treatment completed. The most common reasons patients come to Hapy Bear are:

  • Young age
  • Extensive treatment needed
  • Phobia of the dental process

Special needs All treatment will be done using General Anesthesia. The type of sedation used for each patient’s treatment will be determined by the extent of treatment needed, the wishes of the parents and the age and cooperativeness of the child.

  • We also are glad to provide the following services:
  • Root Canal Therapy for permanent teeth including molars (up to age 17)
  • Complicated Extractions including wisdom teeth (up to age 17)
  • Labial and Lingual Frenectomies
  • Breast feeding consultation included with Frenectomies on New Borns

Hapy Bear is a mercury-free dental office. Our philosophy is to always do what we feel is best for our patients. Until recently we did not feel there was any material superior to Amalgam for pediatric fillings. However, as technology has progressed, we have become convinced that the new Glass Ionomer materials are equal or superior to the traditional Amalgam.

With this change we are also a friendly place for those who might have concerns about mercury toxicity. Patients will also have the benefit of always getting tooth colored fillings.

Here is a quick summary of our visitation process; there will be two visits:

  • First Visit: A consultation and physical
  • Second Visit: Treatment under sedation

The first visit will be to get acquainted with the patient. A medical history and physical exam will be completed and we will determine the best type of sedation to use. The second visit will be for treatment. Many times we can complete all necessary treatment in only one visit.

When treatment is completed, we will let the parent know to contact their regular dentist for their child’s 6-month check-up and cleaning. We will also send a letter informing the referring dentist that treatment has been completed.

We are excited to provide a “Hapy” place where kids can get their teeth cared for!
